LEGO X CROCS

leog animations London Essex

Overview

We worked with Myth Creative on these Crocs x LEGO animations, assiting with we assisted them with the 3D animated elements of the launch campaign, animating individual elements, backgrounds and creating CG LEGO assets.

In February 2026, Crocs and LEGO collaborated on a new range of shoes and Jibbitz. The range includes; The LEGO Brick Clog, an oversized pair of Crocs with four studs stamped with the LEGO brand logo. Also in the range are the LEGO Creativity Clog, The LEGO Midnight Garden Clog and LEGO Jibbitz.

The LEGO Brick Clog promotion included a LEGO built scene, a news stand, with a model at the centre wearing the shoe. The still image was shot in camera and we’re tasked with animating the LEGO built butterfly and the LEGO leaves that blew into the scene.

The LEGO Midnight Garden Clog advert is a floral built scene made up of real foliage and LEGO built flowers that was shot on camera. Our role was to animate the LEGO flowers and the shoe in post as well as adding an effect to the mist.

The assets for the promotion of the LEGO Creativity Clog included the shoes being placed on various plinths made from LEGO, we were tasked with making these plinths in 3D and also creating the backgrounds with floating LEGO pieces.

Process

For the projects that were shot in camera we attended the shoots to capture HDR images of the scenes. This was a crucial step in ensuring light accuracy when placing and animating the 3D object in post. It allowed for the objects to be lit exactly as if they were truly in the scene, as well as accurately reflecting the environment we placed them into. This also meant that we could capture reference photography whilst we were there, to get an accurate reference of what the pieces would look like in the environment under the lighting.

We captured a 3D scan of the environment at the shoots, this was particularly important for the The LEGO Brick Clog shoot (the newsstand) so we could accurately place the butterfly in the correct scale of environment. It also meant that the animated leaves wouldn’t intersect with the floor, model or newsstand.

For the LEGO Midnight Garden Clog shoot we required the 3D scan to be super accurate because we were placing the LEGO Flowers within the photographed bushes. The reference photography meant that when we were adding in the CG animated flowers they were in the correct position.

Back at the Ultra Studio we used Cinema 4D to build and animate all the 3D models. We used the HDR capture to light the scene. We rendered out clean plates with no background and composited them together in After Effects.

The LEGO plinths for the LEGO Creativity Clog promo were built as a set of scenes in Cinema 4D, we then provided different options to suit the angles of the product photographed being placed on the plinths.

The projects were output in various formats to allow for the use on socials and the Crocs website.

The plinths were created in various colourways and sizes to allow for flexibility when Crocs wanted to create new scenes for new promotional imagery.

The project as a whole was shortlisted for a D&AD award.
